We’ve had a couple of great excursions out with the kids and
my parents that I haven’t written about. We went to the zoo. It was a crummy
cold day and I was worried about the kids contracting the flu someplace so decided
it was a good day to go to the conservatory. I was lucky enough to have my
parents to help out. The kids had fun in the kids play room (Levi got so wet I
got them both Zoo t-shirts at the gift shop – not a good day to go outside wet –
brrrr!), looking at the flowers/conservatory and then the rainforest room.
Kaylee was rushing through the rainforest room that day, afterwards I asked her
why she went so fast and she said it was too hot in there and too noisy. We had
a snack and some down time in their nice cafeteria. Then we went to see the
polar bars (once again elusive) and seal building which was fun. We made plans
to come back in the summer to see the seal show, the seals are Kaylee’s
favorite. Was a fun and active day and I
expected the kids to nap well, at least Levi, but it was a no-go on the napping
that afternoon. Still a good time with
my parents and the kids was had.
This past weekend we went to the MOA and they went on a
couple of rides, and got to see Lego land. Kaylee and my Mom rode together on
the swings. It was fun to watch them! Then we went to the Rainforest Café and
the kids thought that was pretty fun and different. They had fun experiencing a
different ambience and the “storm” that was every half hour or so. Then we went
t to the ice castle. Which was fun, except I lost Kaylee briefly much to my
panic, but overall it was a very fun visit.
She was not being naughty she was just running around having fun. The
castle had a fun type maze and the ice was lit up nicely. We also weren’t too
cold. The kids did both zonked out after that trip.
Glad that neither trip resulted in sickness for the kids. Glad
to give them new experiences and some fun during this very cold, long winter!
Glad to have some great help!
Thanks Mom, Dad and Eric!
