Memorial day weekend

Kaylee is done with preschool for the year, Eric went to her end of the year ice cream social and they had a great time. I think Kay is going to miss preschool. We thought a bit about summer preschool but daycare doesn't do it so that's the end of that. Plus the money. We had a good weekend despite illness. Kaylee has pink eye and Levi I thought was doing better until he puked on me last night. It was one of the most disgusting things...being a parent is not always fun to say the least. Poor thing, it's just kinda sad to me that mostly I just hope I can bring him and her to daycare and keep them there (hope for no more incidents). I am very busy with work and can't take the time. Had to leave Friday already at 10 am so didn't get many hours in. We went swimming in the pool both days. Kaylee swam and Eric, mostly. I hung out at the stairs with Levi, the pool was very cold at 74 sun and 72 mon after we got hail Sunday night. But the days were sunny though and it was the perfect way to spend the weekend. The neighbor girls were over to enjoy sun and we had a family picnic on our deck yesterday. Then after naps yesterday we rollerbladed to a park and had a picnic. Wonderful time. Eric played a monster game with the kids (we brought the neighbor girls some days they are practically our kids) which they enjoyed very much. Levi is a little daredevil on the playground now and climbs ladders and goes on big slides. He also had been swinging a bit on big kid swings, giggling whilst he does it. He must have said "baby Sammy" 500 hundred times this weekend. I think he misses his cousin. He wakes up in the morning and pronounces " baby Sammy" right away. Very cute And kind of sad to see him miss the baby so much. Wish us luck with our sick kiddos and hope you were in good health for memorial day weekend. Happy retirement to my lovely mother in law! Smith visit

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile, things were busy with the Smiths in town and erics grandma Nadine's funeral. We had fun seeing the family and having a sort of reunion despite the sad reason that drew us together. But I guess that's why funerals are not always so sad. I will miss Nadine very much, and I've been impressed and proud of Eric as he tends to qt. I love you hubby deep down and fully, for all you are...caring, a man of his word, putting family first! Anyways, it was fun for the kids to see their grandparents and to then see aunt Steph and baby Sammy! The kids had so much fun making him laugh, I was about to come between them and the baby a few times then pulled back realizing he was happy, laughing and loving their silly antics. He's used to it with his big bro and sis after all...it was very nice of Eric's aunt to host a couple great family get togethers. It was nice and I loved seeing Rick, Denise, Ronan and Tristan! Got to meet the new baby, who reminded me very much of Levi with his cute, kissable chubby cheeks. Now Levi's been sick several days with cold, eyes cruddy, puffy and now today a cough, vomiting and telling me his ears hurt. So I took him in and he has an earache on the right ear, a bad one. So now he's on antibiotics. It's amazing how fast they work after not having eaten because of the vomiting this morning, he ate two whole things of yogurt! So glad my little honey is turning the corner, and hopefully will continue his recovery over the long weekend. Have a happy memorial day weekend! Take care and stay safe too!

Lucky mom

Levi and Kaylee, I'm so lucky for being your mom. Thanks for making my moms day special my kaylee holding my hand for a bit on our walk, saying you think mothers day is fun and Levi for saying " I share" and then crawling into my lap during our movie to share your popcorn. That made my day. Thanks also for starting lately to get along better with each other. That's a real blessing. Levi thns for going poop and pee in the potty so much lately. You are doing awesome. I can't believe you've only just turned 20 months! Thanks to my mom for being a great mom, and for hosting brunch at your place. the kids loved duck duck grey duck and the Simon says we played outside in my parents backyard on that beautiful sunny day.

Our fun weekend

Friday started out with a Preschool conference for Kaylee. She is doing great. It was so fun to see her writing improvement from Sept, midyear and now. Her name started out with doodles in Sept, changed to large letters and “E” with many horizontal lines to a perfect capital lettering of her name! We are so proud of your progress Kaylee! She can name all her uppercase letters and 20 lowercase with her schoolteacher saying the ones she gets mixed up are totally normal and look similar flipped sideways or up and down like b,d, or u, n. She also has improved her hand – eye coordination greatly we could see that on her scissor cutting exercises over the year that marked her progress. She said that Kaylee is very social and makes friends easily, listens well and follows directions well. Good job again Kaylee! We already knew things were going pretty well at Preschool since she always wants to go there and mimics what Ms. Jessica is doing in class all the time at home. Our little budding teacher loves to ‘read’ us stories all the time.

Friday we had fun together. The weather was good and I took them to two different playgrounds and we had a picnic at one of the parks. Then we washed the car to which Levi was just amazed by. He was slightly scared and amazed. We did a goodwill run and I accidentally donated one of Levi’s shoes that fell on the floor he had kicked it off. So we are down a pair, they were not able to find it when I went back. Oh well!

Kaylee had a great time this weekend at the Princess thing at the community center. I will post photos as soon as I get them loaded...I had her all dressed up in her Little Mermaid outfit she got from her Grandparents for her birthday. She was excited to go, spend some girl time and not to have her brother there. When we got there they had some activities like princess themed stickers to put on a scrapbook page, castle foam frames with stickers and beaded necklaces/bracelets to make. She was so busy and happy doing those things that she ended up being the last little girl to have her nails painted and her hair done. She loved having someone do her nails the way she wanted with all those colors to chose from, she got a glitter butterfly tattoo. Then she got her hair curled and a blue hair extension put in. And the finale was a little runway show on a red carpet of all the little girls dressed up pretty. It was so cute! I will totally take her again next year!

Then she had a great playdate with a little girlfriend on Sunday. Then it was dreary and a little rainy and they had seemed a little stir crazy. I thought best if they play with the neighbor girls who turned out to be gone. Then out of desperation I rang the doorbell of a neighbor I know has kids who we never had met. They were so nice, their kids were great. They invited us in playing, chatting and dinner. It turned out to be a great night and I think we made some new friends. Now it will be our turn to have them over sometime soon! Kaylee woke up proclaiming she has to go back to her friend’s house and not to daycare today. I think she enjoyed herself, it’s going to be tough to keep her away.

Levi went poop in the potty!

Just one day after peeing in the potty, Levi also did another first by pooping in the potty! He had pooped in his diaper and after wiping him I saw he wasn't finished and asked him if he would poop on the potty. He said yes, I put him there and he did! I'm very excited, the poop is the biggest reward for me. I hate changing poopy diapers! Again, I know there's lots more work Ahead but it's a start and I'm thrilled with his willingness! Good job Levi!
