Kaylee's anticipating her 4th birthday!

Kaylee handed out her homemade blueberry muffins today at daycare at breakfast time. You can see her brother at left is waiting in anticipation for them.

She had to put on her princess dress today since it was her special day to celebrate with friends. She brought some Oreos to preschool excitedly exclaiming, "And I don't have to eat my veggies first!"

She is looking forward to her birthday very much but keeps asking, "why does it take long to get here?"

Kaylee learned how to ride her bike! She discovered her friends and her cousins are getting around on bikes and didn't want to be left behind. It's funny what a season off of parks and sports will do, suddenly you're surprised as a parents to find your girl can ride her bike and you boy can throw ball and make a basket. Boy did she take off, and that was with a nearly flat tire! Once we put air in it we couldn't keep up, we have to run periodically to stay nearby. Her training wheels are of course assisting and she's getting a new helmet and dinger for her birthday.

Kaylees been reading her brother stories, it's so cute! She also did something I thought was funny today... She went upstairs while Eric was watching her, and he was watching levi in the playroom. He thought maybe she's going potty, or reading or drawing...but when he didn't hear her for awhile so he checked on her. She was painting her fingernails herself, and best part is she didn't make any mess. Her hands were a mess of course but nothing else, she was very careful. She showed off her barely painted nails to me when I got home, proudly displaying them.

Dress Up

18 mo dr appt and good weekend!

Eric took Levi to the doctor this morning for his 18 month checkup. Little did we know that we scheduled a very early appointment for the morning it actually seems like an hour earlier - usually our 6:30! So they made it on time and everyone was there - step one. Then Eric said that he was still very very high on the head circumference. He was 26 lb 12 oz and 33"h both were 76%. Our doctor said she is much happier with his weight/height this time (and it's proportionality) because last time he had a bit of a dip down to 50% for weight which wasn't in his growth curve and she hadn't liked that. So anyways, looks like Levi's doing great. He didn't like the shots but it's all part of it. Kaylee was very worried this morning that he was going to have to have shots. She didn't want him to get them. They are really starting to love each other. He asked for her all the way home from Target the other day when I took him out when she was napping. Music to my ears!

Also regarding the doctor's appt...she was extremely pleased with his verbal abilities. I guess while he was there he was saying sentences to her - during the block stacking test thing he said to her, "More blocks please." Eric said he said about 30 words while we were there supporting Eric's claim he can say 40-50 words and now in combination with each other. She says she is way ahead verbally. Which actually is kind of surprising because we've always known he's doing well, but Kaylee was always so stupendous in that department that in comparison...well anyways, he's doing great! They are both smart little cookies and we couldn't be more proud! When asked to build block tower, he built two (3) block towers and when she asked him to build it taller, he complied by putting all blocks in a (6) block tower. Wow!

Kids had a great weekend!
Thurs got to see Aunt Becky and her boyfriend and have pizza. Friday got to go on rides at the MOA and to Disney store with Grandma. Saturday got to see greatgrandma for lunch. Saturday also got to go with friend to park and to our playroom. Sunday they got to go to the zoo while Eric and I ripped down wallpaper we wanted down from the moment we moved it. After we get it repainted I will have to post a photo of the refreshed look! The weather yesterday was gorgeous. 66 degrees! Perfect for kids to go to zoo with the Aunt/Uncle. Happy 18 months old Levi!

Levi happy 18 months old today! You are so sweet, kind, silly and have such a great heart. I feel lucky to have such wonderful children in you and Kaylee. Eric, Kaylee and I are so blessed to have you a part of our lives! You are learning to talk, and want to begin going with Kaylee over to the neighbor’s house. You are beginning your attempts at independence and I cannot believe you are not going to be a baby anymore and that your babyhood went by this fast! You have just been a pure joy to me as a Mom – you’ll always be my baby of course. You are my tough guy – you love to “rarh” at the vacuum instead of be scared at it and run away. You love to show your skills at climbing and I have been trying to get your sister to get off the counter so as to not show you bad habits. You also say “please” and “thank you” and bring me your toys as a sign of love when I stubbed my toe. You are already hesitating at hitting before just going for it, you have a great little gentlemanly way about you already. You pat Kaylee’s back if she’s upset. You say “Hi Jackson” and love to see what your Doggie is doing. You throw him the ball and then get upset because he took it away. You made your way from your highchair to the booster this month. You are trying very hard to use your fork and I am amazed at your dexterity and determination. You can already sort of catch a ball. I am amazing again, by your dexterity. You kick up your little knee so that you can have extra strength when you are throwing. You are going to be a “boy’s boy” someday, so I am trying to really soak in the time when you still want to cuddle, when you hold my hand, when you lean over to kiss me…I love you little guy!
