Levi took a header at the third trip out to the water splash/fountain area and now, a couple weeks later his face is fully recovered - like it never happened! They sure do bounce back quick! Thankfully!

Vacation to colorado

So the last week and a half we've been on vacation to see the smith family in Colorado. It's been a good trip! Wanted to get a quick blog in of the fun we've had and I'll post photos from the trip when we get back in a few days. Anyways...highlights:

1) Went to the zoo. The kids got to feed the elephants and the giraffes. Kaylee talked a lot about the giraffes long black tongue and how scared she was, how mom did it first, then together, then by herself. We went on the gondola thing up the mountainside which was an amazing view there was a sleeping tiger underneath us for instance. There was a climbing wall up at top of the ride. Ellie climbed the center support up till about 13 ft above the floor. She's a good little athlete. They buried Kaylee in some dusty rock, she was very dirty after but they had a good time.  It was a good trip, Eric was along so that was nice.

2) went 2x so far with my mother on law to take the kids to a park that had an awesome playground and an outdoor rotating water sculpture the kids run around and splash in. They've had an awesome time there. It truly feels like what I imagine days off with my kids would be like -- fun in the sun, splashing, picnics...thanks Barb for all the help with the kids.

3) went out for ice cream and for pizza - yum!!

 4) got to go out on a special date to a nice restaurant alone with my handsome hubby! Ate out on the patio, slowly, and ordered 2 desserts!

5) we've gotten to attend a few of the kids soccer games, my kids now seem interested in trying out the sport. Maybe?! Both kids a very good little athletes and sportsman. I've been very very proud of

them! Plus there's been fun playgrounds for the kids to play on while we're waiting...

6) we went mt Princeton one day which had a wonderful pool with a big slide, you know open top. Long down a mountainside windy type? Eric took them down there over and over, i went down twice with levi until i think he was scared by the dip splash to his face at theend. until then he loved. kaylee had a great time on the slide! There was a kiddie pool for Levi and he met a friend to happily play with her and his squirt gun. There was. A little hot tub and after there were some natural hot springs and climbing rocks we had fun playing in as a family. We went for pizza on the wAy home and unfortunately hit a deer with the car. Eric had slowed way down first and we weren't hurt, Eric thinks maybe the deer made it, and our car only had a minor dent the dealership told Eric the next day how to pop out himself with his bare hands. So nice to be married to a smart capable manly man!

7) I think number 1 should have been valleyfair! That's what we did first before leaving! My work bought us all tickets. We split up for the most part since the kids are different heights. I took Levi to see the anamatronic dinosaur exhibit. He was honestly a little too young for but he was brave. Then we went to the Ferris wheel and then the rain around to see it all, then to the kids area for the bouncy house, play house with foam ball shooting (Levi's fav) and on his first lil roller pastier, Kaylee went on a flying ride with my friend from works girl her age. Kaylee and Eric did more coasters and the bumper cars ( kay got a bad bruise on her face from the bumper car, Eric had been holding her tight until she commanded him to stop, then bam! Eric obviously didn't see it coming)  we had a ball there. Mostly all about the kids but what in life isn't at his stage? Then ended it with a work picnic and a 15 hour nonstop drive through the night.

8) drove up to pikes peak at 14,111 ft elev. had to get out the coats gloves and mittens for it. The view was amazing! Got a good group shot at the top ill post later.
