Kaylee had her 5th year doctor
appointment. She was 30% in weight and 40% in height. She didn’t have to get
shots which she was so happy about, and even though I said she probably
wouldn’t have to she was very concerned about it going in and once the doctor
said she wouldn’t have to when we got there, she was relaxed and happy the rest
of the visit. She did a vision test which I thought it was funny/weird to have
some odd apple shape on there. She called it an apple though and I was amazed
by that – because I thought if she said “blob” it would be totally
understandable – from a design standpoint I was thinking “Who made this
thing?!” Then she was screened a bit for the doctor with colors, what makes
what sound, counting, shapes,… she did fine of course. I thought the cutest part
was when the doctor was asking her to describe things and she did but it wasn’t
always the sort of answer I give – they were correct answers but they were
creative. It was a little view into how beautiful her mind is right now – her
little chatterbox ways and how funny the things she says are sometimes. It is
utterly adorable hearing everything she is thinking these days. She is superb
people I tell you! (I am her Mom though so that give me some major bias! J) I think an example is “What is thunder?” Kaylee:
“It makes you jump and wakes you up.” See what I mean? Nonconventional answer
but still totally correct. So proud of my smart little girl and loving the age
that she is at right now. She’s so much fun!
Levi has a little sense of humor on him. Just
like his daddy. He is regularly making small little jokes that get us all
laughing, making faces that are silly and getting away with a little trouble by
being so charming. Sounds just like his father to me! Anyways, both our kids
are just a joy and as Mother’s day approaches – I am feeling like one heck of a
lucky gal! J
Hope you all had a great weekend – and we sure
hope this latest downfall of lots of snow in April will melt soon and leave us
with the Spring we so much deserve!
Kaylee and Levi have been shoveling the deck this weekend in the
freezing rain (because they wanted to, not because we made them) we were joking
that the neighbors might wonder what kind of cruel punishment we were
instituting upon our children – but truly the kids do see the snow in a way different
light than us adults do (those of us who have to drive in it, and remove it).
The kids also had fun with their Aunt and Uncle
on Saturday, who babysat. They showed off to them so much that the volume in
our house was probably triple it’s normal level! I thought they would sleep in
the next morning, but no – oh well! We are very used to the wakeups between 5
am until 7 am as our norm. Someday we will sleep in until 8 am again – right? I am getting so excited for my neice or nephew to be born in July! Can't wait!
