Valentines notes to my nuclear family:
Kaylee: I love you so much. I cannot believe
what a big girl you’ve become and how you are going to be going to kindergarten
so soon! I bet you’re excited! It seems just a bit ago you were a little baby
in my arms. You bring our family so much fun and joy. You are so imaginative, reading
us stories that you make up along the way. I love how you can create a fairy
tale just from looking at some pictures. I love how you love your brother and
include him in your play. I love how you have grown in the last year to dress
yourself without too much trouble, to brush your own hair, to get your own
toothbrush ready, help set the table for dinner. It is fun to watch you play –
the way you laugh easily, share with others (most of the time) and how you are
so cute (your lovely smile) when you dance and dress up. I love when you tell
jokes and tell us about your day. All the ways you help around the house and
with Levi we really appreciate. You are a good girl! We love you!
Levi: You are such a honey. I love you. You are
a big boy who will rarh at pretend monsters and in the same day, blow kisses
when saying goodbye. You run to see if your sister is ok if she gets hurt. You
are learning how to share (working on it). I love how in the last year you have
learned how to talk and tell us how you feel. How you have learned to put your
shoes on yourself, and get most of the way into your own shirts. How you sometimes
go potty like a big boy. I love your laughter, your singing, your dancing, how
silly and rambunctious you are. I love
how you even want to protect your mommy, running to help when I have a “whoops”
moment. I love watching you play basketball and passing the ball back and forth
with you. I love giving you rides on my back and I love still holding you and
your hand. I love your chubby cheeks and that little dimple buried into your
left one that shows when your face lights up with a giant smile.
Eric: I love you even more than I did when we
first married. I love having you to celebrate the big moments (like children
being born) and the little moments like a little down-time together. You are so
funny. I don’t know how I’d survive without your sense of humor in my life. You
continue to be interesting with your encyclopedic knowledge (where do you get
this stuffJ) I love
what an involved Dad you are. How you offer much stability to our home: helping
fix it up and the day to day work you do. We’ve taken on more and more responsibility as
we’ve gone on, and it’s good to know I have someone who’s such a rock to share
it all with. I wish I had more time to
spend alone with you but we are in the midst of parenting young ones and we
both know that someday we will have more time together. Until then we’ll grab a few moments here and
there, and share in our daily roles as Mom and Dad of our two wonderful little
kiddos! Thank you for all you do!
